All India Ulema Board in protest against Waqf Amendment Act

Board meeting decided not to protest and file a petition in the Supreme Court

New Delhi. Muslim organizations across the country are protesting against the amendments in the Waqf Act and making a new law. In this connection, the All India Ulema Board, a representative body of various Muslim communities across the country, has also opposed the Waqf Amendment Act and called it government interference in the private matters of Muslims. A special meeting of the All India Ulema Board was held in Noida, the capital, on this matter, in which the members of the main executive of the board participated. In the meeting, the board’s general secretary Allama Bunai Hasni said that the matter of Waqf is a private matter related to the religion and culture of the Muslim community and the Constitution gives every Indian citizen religious freedom, privacy and freedom of expression, under which every citizen has the right to protect the customs, culture and privacy related to his religion. Waqf is a matter of privacy as well as religion of the Muslim community, in which the central and state governments do not have the right to interfere. Bunai Hasni said that in the meeting of All India Ulema Board, all the members decided that they will not protest against the Waqf Amendment Act but will support the All India Muslim Personal Law Board in the petition filed in the Supreme Court. Maulana Naushad Ahmed Siddiqui, Shamsul Ulama Maulana Syed Athar Ali, Maulana Shamim Akhtar Nadvi Mumbai, Islamic Scholar Syed Arshila Faridi Patna, Mufti Tahir Hussain Mazahiri UP, Maulana Riyazuddin Naqshbandi Hyderabad, Mr. Salim Alware, Advocate Mothar Hussain Delhi, Editor Syed Muzaffar Ali Ajmer, Advocate Amjad Khan Lucknow, Mufti Khalid Azam Haidri Kolkata, Sheikh Faisal Iqbal Aurangabad, Sheikh Hafizullah Gujarat, Mr. Badshah Ranchi, Maulana Sabit Ali Naqshbandi, Mubin Siddiqui, Dr. Nadeem Usmani, Qazi Rizwanur Rahman Siddiqui Gulbarga and Dr. Abdul Qadir Syed attended the meeting.
