The School Management Federation (SMF) successfully organized a one-day discussion, bringing together representatives from approximately 100 schools across the slum areas of Mumbai and various parts of Maharashtra. The focus of the event was on developing strategies to secure official recognition for private, unrecognized schools, particularly those serving minority communities in slum areas. Distinguished guests included MLC Shri Jagannath Abhyankar and MLA Shri Abu Asim Azmi (Mankhurd Shivajinagar Constituency), along with senior leader vakil Khan, who presided over the discussion. Key SMF core committee members — including Saeed Khan, Shabana Khan, Rais Khan, Naz Khan, Ishtiyaq Khan, Yusuf Shaikh, Rizwan Ansari, Kamrunnisa Shaikh, Farid Shaikh, Shahnawaz Shaikh, Nizamuddin Shaikh, Afsar Shaikh, and others — played an instrumental role in organizing the event.

Highlights of the Discussion:

Submission of a new proposal to the government for the recognition of minority schools. Advocacy for the creation of laws to facilitate better access to education. The event also saw the participation of several notable social leaders and educators, including social activists Praveen Sherke and Arun Sawant. The primary objective of the discussion was to explore practical solutions to enhance the quality and accessibility of education in Mumbai and across Maharashtra.
